How it works

Managed online tuition, step by step.

Apex Academy (ApexEdu) runs the whole tuition journey inside one portal: finding a verified tutor, paying in RM, holding the class on Google Meet, and following up with marked work. Here is what happens at each step.

Sign up as a studentI’m a parent

For students

  1. Create a free account and choose your curriculum: KSSR or Cambridge Primary (Year 1–6), KSSM (Form 1–3), SPM (Form 4–5), Cambridge Lower Secondary (Year 7–9) or IGCSE (Year 10–11).
  2. Top up your wallet in RM by bank transfer. Apex verifies the transfer and the balance appears in your wallet. Parents can top up for you.
  3. Request a Panel Tutor for a subject and time. The class fee is held, not spent. The tutor has up to 6 operating hours to accept; if they decline or don’t reply, the hold is released.
  4. Join the class on Google Meet. The link is created when the tutor accepts, and the classroom opens 10 minutes before the start. Every class is 1-to-1 and 60 minutes.
  5. Get your remark and marked work. The tutor writes a comment, grade and homework after class, and sets a date to return any work you submit.

For parents

Sign up as a parent and link to your child with the family code from their Settings → Family page. One parent account can follow several children. You can see upcoming classes, every remark and piece of marked work, top up the wallet, and message the tutor in your own parent thread.

For tutors

Apply as a Panel Tutor and complete verification: identity and right to work, teaching qualification or CV, a signed tutor agreement and code of conduct, and bank details. Once every document is approved you can list subjects at your own RM hourly rate (each listing is approved by Apex) and start receiving requests.

Common questions

Is it free to sign up?

Yes. Student, parent and tutor accounts are free. Students only pay for the classes they book, at the tutor's listed RM rate.

How long does a top-up take?

Apex checks each bank transfer by hand and aims to verify it within 30 minutes during operating hours, 7am to 9pm Malaysia time. Top-ups can be from RM10 to RM10,000.

Does my wallet balance expire?

Wallet balance is valid for 12 months, and you are reminded 30 days and 7 days before it expires.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 24 hours or more before the class for a full refund, 6–24 hours before for 50%, and under 6 hours is not refunded. You get one free late reschedule every 60 days. If the tutor cancels or doesn't show up, you get a full refund.

What if something goes wrong in a class?

Raise a dispute within 48 hours of the class, and Apex aims to decide within 5 business days. Students, parents and tutors can also report a safety concern at any time from their portal.
